Yay for her retiring! This year has been hard on everyone, but the lead nurses have really had a rough time. They are medical professionals being told how to carry out policies and procedures from non-medical administration (in most cases.) I am happy to hear that she put herself and her health on top priority. Now...I am sorry for you. Good lead nurses are hard to come by. It sounds like you have good systems in place. Hopefully the next person will continue with what's already working.
I highly recommend completing the John's Hopkins contact tracing course. It is free online. It will help you explain the difference between the isolation period versus the quarantine period.
Texas here, All of our students, weather in-person or virtual, have to be compliant. We are either blocking them from their online classes or excluding them from in-person learning if they aren't compliant.
Yayyy! for losing weight, congrats! Great excuse to buy new scrubs.
I was fetch yesterday, but since I am isolated in my office, only my virtual friends know how cool I am in my pink scrubs. ??
What state are you in? This is interesting.
I count my controlled meds once a week, and after returning to the clinic when someone else gave meds when I wasn't on campus.
<<<Hugs to you>>> Of course you were affected by this situation, you're human and have a relationship with this student. It was great that this other student felt like she could come to you and tell you the whole situation. Take time for yourself to decompress from this situation, and keep doing a great job! (cue OD) BAM!!! Another student saved from the jaws of death by the school nurse!
